How to Get Your Own Facebook Vanity URL
I wrote this blog for my friend Diego Arango, my schoolmates, and my other online friends all over the internet — who would-be and already- been using Facebook to connect with friends from all point of our planet.
So what is Vanity URL?
And why would you consider getting one for yourself?
Facebook has this awesome feature that lets you choose your own profile URL. This URL is called ‘Facebook username’ or ‘Facebook Vanity URL’, and often preferred by geeky Internet people. lol
If you work in the internet industry, having your own Facebook URL would make your blog, resume or portfolio look good and neat.
Compare this link: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=791274106&etrk to http://www.facebook.com/diego.andres.arango.diaz
See the difference between the 2 links?
Which one do you see looks better and catchy?
Of course, the one with the name of its owner.
One more plus if you have your-own-name Facebook URL — Google can index it faster and will likely appear on the first page of Google’s search result whenever someone searched for your name.
Here are 3 easy steps to get your Personal Profile Facebook Vanity URL:
Step 1: Sign-in or Create you Facebook account here.
Step 2: Go to www.facebook.com/username.
Step 3: Choose one from Facebook suggestions or enter your desired username on the box provided — then check if it is still available by clicking the ‘Check availability’. Click the ‘Confirm’ button and… voila! You now have your new Facebook link to share with everyone!
Quick Note: Be careful when choosing a username to enter because you can change your username only once. Do a double, or even, triple check spelling before you click the ‘Confirm’ button.
